To whom it may concern.
Let me be very clear, because silence can be mistaken for agreement and I don’t agree. I haven’t spoken up in a while. But when it comes to my Motha, I will speak. Period. And let me say this plainly. The people I’m addressing are members of my own family, and they are going to stop mishandling my Motha as long as I’m alive. What I will not accept is Sound Healing or Reiki being labeled “sorcery” or “evil” by people quoting scripture without historical, theological, or medical understanding, especially while ignoring their own unresolved issues, including alcoholism, drug addiction, chaos, and untreated trauma. Condemning healing while refusing self‑reflection is not righteousness.
Before there was a Bible, people still had a relationship with God. God did not begin at Genesis 1:1. God has always existed. Long before scripture was written, compiled, translated, and interpreted by men, cultures across the world prayed, fasted, anointed, sang, used breath, rhythm, and touch in healing practices. To suggest that God only works through one text, one culture, or one expression is to limit God Himself. That puts God in a box, and my God is too big for that. And to be clear, we are still believers in Yeshua.
Sound has always been foundational. The Bible literally states, “In the beginning was the Word.” Sound is vibration. Breath. Frequency. These are physical realities, not mystical claims. David played the harp to soothe Saul’s distress. Trumpets were used strategically in battle. Singing, chanting, anointing with oil, and laying on of hands are all documented biblical practices. When healing methods align with scripture but don’t look familiar to modern religious culture, labeling them “evil” is not faith. It’s fear.
Reiki is not worship of another god. It is not summoning demons. It is not sorcery. Reiki is a complementary wellness practice focused on relaxation and nervous system regulation. It is used in hospitals, cancer centers, hospice care, and trauma recovery programs by trained professionals to reduce stress, anxiety, pain perception, and support the body’s natural healing response. Sound therapy and sound baths are similarly supported by research showing benefits for heart rate variability, blood pressure regulation, stress reduction, and emotional regulation. These practices are adjuncts, not replacements for medical care, and they are supported by science, clinical settings, and evidence‑based research. I’ve seen these practices help real people, including those in my family, when they are ready to receive.
So here is a real question: How is intentional healing, presence, and nervous system regulation considered “evil,” while alcoholism, substance abuse, judgment, gossip, rage, and untreated trauma are ignored or excused? Scripture speaks very clearly about hypocrisy, addiction, judgment, and accountability. You cannot quote the Bible while dismissing compassion. You cannot condemn healing while actively harming your own body. And you cannot speak authoritatively on “evil” while refusing to do your own inner work.
God is not confined to church walls. God is not limited to one method of care. God is not threatened by science, breath, frequency, or the nervous system. God created them. I will not shrink my faith to accommodate fear‑based religion. I will not stop speaking about healing that restores balance, clarity, and health. And I will not allow misinformation to be weaponized against my family.
And for the record, run and tell whoever you want my grandparents are deceased. Stop playing with me & mine. You don’t have to agree with me, but you will respect me, my Motha, and our lived experience. God is bigger than fear. Healing is not evil. And it’s time to take God out of the box people keep trying to trap Him in. Please delete us on all social media platforms and go on with your life. ✌🏾
P.S. Many people in my family genuinely carry spiritual gifts. Gifts themselves are neutral. It is the intention, integrity, ethics, and responsibility behind how they are used that determines whether they help or harm. Any ability can be used to heal or to control, to uplift or to wound. This conversation isn’t about fear; it’s about accountability and maturity. A lot of people avoid acknowledging this because it requires self‑examination. I don’t. I know who I am, I know my values, and I’m grounded in my truth. Too many are caught up in religious performance instead of cultivating an actual relationship.
